All you need to know about paracetamol during pregnancy.
A pregnant woman, especially at an early agestage, it is better not to use medicines at all. Although there are cases in which you just need to drink some pain medication or antipyretic. Here in such cases, paracetamol comes to the rescue, during pregnancy practically in all indications.
Cases when paracetamol is needed for pregnant women.
First of all, these are colds, accompanied by temperature. But at the same time the temperature to 38.5 should be removed by folk remedies, tea with honey or jam from raspberries, or an infusion of lime color. But if the temperature ran higher, then this can already become a danger to the pregnant woman, because you just need to drink an antipyretic.
Antipyretics from the series - nurofen, aspirin, andothers, refer to anti-inflammatory non-steroid substances, and are contraindicated in pregnancy. And all because they give a lot of complications, both for the mother and for the fetus. Paracetamol during pregnancy, though not a completely safe drug, but, nevertheless, there were no complications after taking in medicine. For example, when I was in the first trimester of pregnancy, I also had to use the "service" of paracetamol. I was hospitalized with renal colic when I was 5-6 weeks pregnant. And, despite taking this medicine, my son was born healthy, and without any pathologies.
But sometimes paracetamol is necessary during pregnancy andwith less dangerous diseases, such as dental or headache. Of course, it is not worth taking it for a long time, but from several times there will not be any harm.
What is paracetamol and its effect.
Paracetamol is an antipyretic and analgesica drug that has a slight anti-inflammatory effect. The anti-inflammatory effect of paracetamol is due to the fact that it inhibits the formation of prostaglandins (biologically active substances) that participate in the inflammation process. The antipyretic effect of this drug is associated with its direct effect on the center of thermoregulation, located in the hypothalamus region of the brain.
Paracetamol after absorption is rapidly absorbedinto the small intestine and rushes into the blood, after which it is distributed in liquid media and in the tissues of the body (except spinal fluid and adipose tissue). But it also penetrates the fetus through the placental barrier, although it does not cause harm. Its destruction occurs in the liver, and the withdrawal occurs through the urinary canals (metabolic products - metabolites). Although some metabolites have the properties of toxins and can cause damage to tissues, which gives some danger. That's why they advise all pregnant women to take medicines only for the doctor's prescription.
Paracetamol is usually used for a variety ofpain - headache, toothache, pain in the muscles and nerves arising from neuralgia, burns or trauma. In addition, it is taken with infectious inflammatory diseases of various origins, accompanied by high fever.
Issue this drug under the mostvarious names (kalpol, paracetamol, panadol or efferalgan), in soluble tablets, tablets, in powder, in suspension for internal administration, in rectal suppositories and in syrup. Paracetamol in pregnancy is prescribed by a doctor not more than 1 tablet in 200 mg. But it is better to use a soluble form, so it will act faster.
